5 SEL Resources Educators Need To Know About

There has been a lot of talk from educators wanting to focus on social and emotional learning for the 2021-22 school year. Here are 5 SEL resources you need to know about. Some of these resources are free, some are paid, and some are a combination of the two.

Go Zen

Has great videos and programs that are sorted by age group. Students watch a video and have that learning reinforced with a worksheet.

Coping Cat

This website is tailored more for school psychologists. This website has some great workbooks to help students dealing with anxiety. Many students will be anxious about returning to face-to-face services for the 2021-22 school year. The Coping Cat Workbooks are great for helping students one on one or in small group settings.

Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS)

This website has free and paid-for information. CBITS has some additional resources relating to the pandemic as well as online training.

Second Step

Second Step is divided up by SEL and grade level. This website has about 6-8 lessons per unit. Each unit comes with student goals and lessons to complement each goal.

Mind Yeti

Mind Yeti features videos and audio-only resources for guided mindfulness. Kids seem to respond well to the graphics in the videos. Mind Yeti has resources in Spanish as well.
